The Fear of the Lord

In Daniel Chapter 8 Daniel has a vision. This vision is about four different beasts. Afterwards he see's a person whom I believe to be Jesus. This person commands Gabriel to explain to Daniel what he saw. As Gabriel was coming over to Daniel, he tells us that he was gripped with terror. And after Gabriel started talking to him he fainted. Daniel passed out because he was so scared of Gabriel. Gabriel is a created being; not the creator himself.

Lets not even think that Daniel was some scared of a fly on the wall type of man. This is after he spent the night in the lions den, he has been an official for about three kings at this time, and has told them things that most people would be to afraid to tell them. He has stood up to other palace officials, and been cast out of his own land (judah). Also, this isn't his first vision. Daniel was a man not to be reckoned with.

Now if Daniel was this afraid of Gabriel, how much fear and reverence should we have for God? Solomon said that the fear of the Lord is the begining of Knoledge (also a very powerful man). I know that I do not fear the Lord as I should, not even close. I wish that I could say that I do, but I do not. I fear the church is so flippant with God that we need an awakening to how fearful and mighty the Lord truely is! Which will, I believe, also lead us into a better understanding of how much the Lord truely loves us as well. For God could destroy us, our families, and our homes and be justified in doing so because we are so sinful and wicked. But he doesn't and he gives us a great gift, the gift of eternal life with him, just because he is so filled with passionate love for his people!

The Lord is good!

Progress...

My dad is doing alot better. I have convinced him to read the book Wild At Heart. Such a good book for men!!! I hope that the Lord really uses it in his life. He's also been talking to me alot about God... His Theology is a little skewed... but he's at least thinking about it. And I don't think that we will ever know who was right or wrong until we are in Heaven with Jesus... and I don't think that it will matter then. I just want to do my best to make sure that he makes it up to the heavenly relms with me!!! I love him, and I hope that you are still praying for him when you think of him.

He told me the other day that while he was driving he prayed for 4 hours!!! YAY!!! He is at least searching for God. The lord says seek and you will find. Knock and the door will be opend to you! He is seeking and knocking. So keep up your prayers if you think of him. Praise Jesus for what he is doing in my dad!!!

Being home

Well, it's really weird being home. These are definately all of the people that I left behind. But they are so different then when I left. I guess life doesn't wait for me to say it's ok to change... it just changes anyway.

It seems that change is the only constant when your stuck in the constraints of time. The only one that can escape that and not be dead is the Holy Trinity.
